Study Title: Movement Patterns and Location Data in Daily Life
Principal Investigators: SCRIIN University
Contact: , +46734174174
1. Purpose and Duration
This study aims to investigate how physical activity (e.g., step count) is related to movement patterns across different locations. By collecting data from your iPhone, we hope to gain a better understanding of the connection between activity and environment. The study will run for 3 months.
2. Procedures
If you choose to participate, the app will:
- Collect information about your daily step count via Apple Health/the phone’s step counter.
- Record approximate location data (GPS or movement patterns) in the background.
All data will be stored securely and used solely for research purposes.
3. Risks and Benefits
- Risks: There are no direct medical risks associated with participation. The main risk is related to handling of personal information (e.g., location data), but we take strong security measures to minimize this risk.
- Benefits: You will not directly benefit from participating, but your contribution may help generate new knowledge about how human movement is influenced by environment.
4. Confidentiality and Data Protection
- All data will be stored securely and processed in compliance with GDPR.
- Only the research team at SCRIIN University will have access to the raw data.
- Data will not be shared with third parties outside of the research project, except in anonymized form in scientific publications.
5. Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal
Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time without providing a reason. If you withdraw, no further data will be collected, and you may request that previously collected data be deleted.
To withdraw, please contact or select “Withdraw from study” in the app.
